Oman keen on investing in Cyprus: Report

Oman has shown interest to invest in Cyprus, especially in the field of research and exploitation of natural gas, the Cyprus News Agency reported on Tuesday.

The report quoted H E Mohammed al Rumhi, Oman's Minister of Oil and Gas, as saying that Oman is interested in investments in Cyprus, after a meeting with Cyprus’ Minister of Energy Giorgos Lakkotrypis, who was on a one-day visit to Oman.

The Cypriot minister held a series of meetings with Omani ministers including Minister of Tourism H E Ahmed al Mehrizi and Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Ali al Sunaidy.

During his meeting with H E Rumhi, Lakkotrypis discussed ways of cooperation between the two countries in the field of renewable energy sources and natural gas. According to the report, H E Rumhi said that Oman is interested in investing in research and exploitation of natural gas and sought Cyprus’ help in the field of renewable energy sources.
