SAUDI Paper Converting Company (SPC), a leading paper manufacturing organization in the Arab world, launched its new smart tissue product called "Ly Ly" with augmented reality (AR) technology at a local hotel in Riyadh recently.
Abdullah Al-Gubain, CEO of SPC, said "Ly Ly gives AR technology, which is the first and latest in the Arab World. Our endeavor is to create ideal method of communicating with consumers and building relationships."
He said: "Our aim is to capture the need of local and international markets with maximum softness and attractiveness. Ly Ly is extremely soft texture, smooth tissue paper with natural brightness and environmentally friendly."
With the launch of this new product, Saied Afify, general sales manager at SPC, said "our aim is to capture the market as a key player of paper industry in the Arab World. AR technology combines real and virtual worlds in a way that is interactive in real time in three dimensions."
A large number of International brands are using AR technologies now days to make their advertising and promotion efforts more appealing for young and tech savvy consumers.
Explaining about the AR technology, Abdulkarim Al-Nuhayer, general manager of SPC, said "our customers now get pleasure from a super soft tissue in a new way and engage with them through mobile application."
Since its initial inception, "SPC aimed to saves the environment and benefits the community through its interest in paper recycling and reducing its reliance on virgin pulp which is manufactured through the consumption of forest trees," he said.
